WHAT WE DO

We run an all inclusive open-access Adventure Playground, Grow - Cook - Eat initiative as well as food growing allotments (and a Community Garden). Everything we do is aimed at providing a place where children from the Shadwell community can develop, play, grow, interact and mix.

Post Covid we recognise that the needs of our local community has changed where families and parents are looking for safe places for their children to play. Our target age and priority is 8 - 15 yrs, However we do welcome families with younger children, Please bear in mind that younger children will be the responsibility of the parent / carer.

"Play is an essential part of a child's life and vital to their development.

It is the way children explore the world around them and develop and practice their skills.

It is essential for physical, emotional and spiritual growth, for intellectual and emotional development, and acquiring social and behavioural skills."

Today's News

Commencing Thursday 20th April and every Thursday after, Glamis will be delivering 8 - 15 yrs only sessions.

This is our specific target age and allows for our older users to explore play opportunities targeted just for them.

we will still be open as normal for younger age groups, as much as we can accommodate, Fridays and Saturdays.

If you are a parent / carer and would like to come along, please remember that we can only admit 1 adult per family (this is due to capacity reasons).

Glamis would like to thank you for your ongoing understanding and consideration.

We now have funding to open on Wednesdays, 4 - 5:30pm, 5 - 15 yrs for SEN sessions. This space is for Y/P's with SEN's to play and explore in safety while being entertained and supervised by trained Playworkers. Parents can have a coffee while they interact, share local information  and have some respite.

This will be a pilot scheme for 1 year to see if further SEN sessions are needed in our local community.

PLEASE NOTE:

These sessions are specifically for young people with SEN's. Please remember to register on-line prior to attending the site.

We are an all inclusive open access facility and our target age is 8 - 15yrs.

Because of varying community needs we will soon be opening on Thursdays just for 8 - 15 yrs, with no parents or carers permitted. Fridays and Saturdays will be as normal. We expect to make this change after the Easter Holidays on Thursday 20th April.

Our term times opening hours are:

Thursdays and Fridays - 3.30 to 6.30 pm

Saturdays - 11.30 am to 5 pm

Please register your child before attending Glamis.

Remember that appropriate footwear is absolutely necessary, no open toe or open

heeled shoes.

NOTE: Admission into Glamis maybe refused if correct footwear is not worn

There is no need to book. Children can just arrive at the playground to play, though they need to be registered if they haven't registered before.

"Glamis Adventure Playground is a very special place,  providing space for our young people to discover their creativity and make friends. I would encourage anyone who can to give what they can to enable Glamis to continue serving future generations."
